Laurie Thomsen ’79

Laurie is a former trustee of Williams and active participant in Williams life in many areas; she is presently a resident of Williamstown and a CDE host family. Professionally, Laurie was a venture investor, initially for many years at Harbourvest Partners in Boston, where she was a general partner. Laurie then co-founded Prism Venture Partners. After leaving the venture industry Laurie has served as a director of major companies, including The Travelers Companies, MFS Mutual Funds, and Dycom. Along with her service as a trustee of Williams, Laurie has been active in leadership and board roles at a number of not for profit organizations including New Profit, Inc., UAspire, Lever, Horizons for Homeless Children, and Kickstart Int’l.
